1st I created my invite. Since this was a themed party I wanted my invite to have a theme but I didn't have enough time to create 90's invites, mail & then wait for RSVP's. So instead, I decided to use inwiter.com, a site thatt allows you to create your own personal video invite for FREE!!! It's so easy! Here's my video:
Next, I decided on the location; Famous Dave's restaurant in Cool Springs. Why? We'll they have great food, prices & also a semi-private room that can be reserved free of charge. The room seats 10-15 people at a round table, and includes a flat screen TV, DVD player, radio/CD player and a fireplace!
So now that the date, location & invites were completed it was time to come up with games for the party! I decided to go with dinner party games since my party would be at a restaurant. We played three games:
1. Name that tune. Play songs from the 90's and guests had to name the tune.
2. 90's movie trivia. Read quotes from popular 90's movies. Guests name the character/movie.
3. 90's slang words. At each guests table setting there was an index card face down with slang word on one side. Guests had to use their assigned slang words throughout the night. Whoever used their word smoothly in conversation without anyone noticing won the game. Can you believe my friend with the words, "Home Skillet" & "Eat My Shorts" won this game? Lol
Next, I came up with my Birthday Music Playlist. I used Google, Facebook & my friends to come with my playlist. Here are some of the songs I played:
1. Aaliyah - One in a Million
2. MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
3. DJ Jimi - Where They At?
4. Salt n Pepa - Expression
5. Wilson Phillips - Hold On
6. Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Give It Away
7. Master P - Bout it, Bout it
8. Uncle Luke - It's Your Birthday
Bring back memories??? Lol
Last but not least everyone was asked to wear 90's clothing to the party! Here's what I wore:
Overalls w/ one strap down, cropped sprayed painted tank with my name on it, Jordan's 1 shoes, gold Jeremy and earrings, fanny pack, Walkman & I even had a gold tooth!!!
I enjoyed my party sooo much and I am so blessed to have my friends that joined me for the fun! Check out the pics:
I hope this inspires you all with your party ideas! Remember you can start the fun...so many others will be glad you did!
Love you all!!! :-)))
