I recently decided to have lunch at The Cookery, a fairly new restaurant located in the 12 South Area. I had read rave reviews online about the place so I had high expectations for the food and the experience; I was NOT disappointed. The atmosphere was very comfortable, a nice place to dine with family or to have a quick business lunch. The menu consisted of coffee, luncheon and dinner foods (I tried a burger that was awesome) but what really moved me most was about The Cookery was the "greater purpose" the restaurant served. Owners Brett Swayyn and Terry Kemper who are also founders of Lambscroft Ministries , in The Cookery kitchen instill culinary crafts to select homeless individuals in order to prepare them for employment in Nashville’s food industry. All revenue from The Cookery goes back into Lambscroft Ministries programs to serve Nashville’s homeless. How awesome is that!?! I commend the owners on offering such a needed program in Nashville and also for thier service in the kingdom of God. I plan on going back many more times...I've been three times in a week so far lol! To find out more about the The Cookery visit - www.thecookery.org
